St Mark’s Church
Refurbishment and major repairs to St Mark’s Church, an English Heritage, Grade II Listed Building located in Preston. A full survey of the building was undertaken and a cost-effective renovation solution was implemented to transform this church into residential apartments. The works included the reporting of cracked ashlar stone joints of the tower with lime mortar and carrying out repairs to various stone features including the tower pinnacles and inserting steel ties into the top tower structure. Other works included the replacement of timber decks inside the tower; repairs to the timber beams inside the tower; removal and replacement of the flat roof structure and covering the top of the tower with a new asphalt covering. Additionally repairs and redecoration to the timber tower windows and resealing associated joints.
