Warden was appointed to construct two overnight short-break facilities for adults and children with disabilities.
Phase one of the project comprised a demolition and enabling package procured under the Lancashire County Council Small Works Framework. Phase two comprised of the construction of the two centres and the surrounding infrastructure including drainage, utilities connections, roads, and car parking.
Working in a residential area, our project management team kept in close contact with the neighbouring properties during consultation meetings and via project newsletter updates. The drainage installations and updates completed during the project alleviated historical flooding problems encountered by the neighbouring properties.
As part of our social value work, Warden, together with and our supply chain on the project, raised a total of £3,300 to fund the purchase of Tomcat Trike Mobility Aids to be used at the adult and children’s centres.
The project was a finalist in the 2022 North West Regional Construction Awards, Lancashire Sub-Regional Project of the Year.
