This heritage-focused residential project saw Warden appointed to support the remodelling and refurbishment of 19 historic residential properties in Priory Place and Love Street in Chester city centre.
This project involved the refurbishment of four, two-storey houses, and ten flats, and the remodelling and refurbishment of eight existing flats, to form four, two-storey houses. The homes were created in 1898 by the Chester Cottage Improvement Company and were Grade II listed in 1998.
The refurbishment scheme involved the complete renewal of all mechanical and electrical services, new boilers and heating systems, new LED lighting, security, and data systems throughout.
It also included the installation of new windows and doors, damp proofing, insulation, painting and decorating, and flooring to create modern city centre residential homes.
This complex project was completed to meet the client’s programme and budget. It took place on occupied, live, residential streets in Chester city centre, in a complex urban environment, with minimal disruption for neighbouring properties and businesses.
